Kindergarten

The 2018-2019 will be my seventh year teaching kindergarten at Roadrunner. I received my undergraduate degree from Arizona State University in Journalism and my Master's degree from University of Phoenix in Special Education. While pursuing my Masters degree I had the opportunity to substitute throughout the Paradise Valley School District and it is during that time that I realized that I wanted to focus my teaching career helping students that have unique needs. I love teaching kindergarten because no day is the same and I learn something new every day. When I'm not working I enjoy spending time with my family and dogs.

"Kindergarten Rocks" - That is my life since joining the Roadrunner family 2-1/2 years ago. My previous experience is working with daycare on various levels and positions. I also worked at the YMCA and Head Start. I'm from Minnesota where I graduated from Mankato State University. I have two sons, ages 28 and 22. In my spare time I love to watch TV and go thrift store shopping. Go Vikings! Prince 4 Ever!
First Grade

I have been a first and second grade teacher here at Roadrunner for twelve years. I was an ex-businesswoman, stay-at-home mom working part time as a substitute teacher for the district when I had the exciting experience of substituting in the Roadrunner elementary wing. I soon became a regular and fell in love with the school and the Boys Town model. The school was so positive and the students responded to the program so well that I wanted to be a part of the good things that were happening here. I decided to go back to school to earn my MA in Education in hopes of finding a home at Roadrunner. After graduation my wish came true and I began teaching in the 1-2 grade classroom in August 2006 and have continued in that classroom till this day.
When I am not teaching I love to garden, travel, scrapbook, camp, hike and hunt. I have been married for 25 years and I have two grown sons ages 23 and 25. One of my favorite things to do is go on road trips with my family to see the beautiful sights in America. My "bucket list" item #3 is to visit all 50 states in America. Thanks to our annual road trips, I have visited 35 states!

Intervention

I teach elementary behavior intervention. I graduated from Arizona State University in December of 2010 and have been a part of the Roadrunner team since August of 2011. I have always wanted to be a teacher and enjoy having the privilege of working along side the students and staff.
I’m about to start my second year at Roadrunner. Before this job, I worked as an education support professional (ESP) at another school for 12 years and loved it. It’s great to have the chance to work with special kids and help them learn and use social skills so that they may turn into successful adults. I hope to make a difference in their lives. When I was a child I dreamt of becoming a teacher. I have a B.A in Education. My favorite subject in school was history. When I’m not at work, I like to read books and go shopping.
