My name is Marissa Kotzen. I was born in Durango, Mexico. I was adopted and came to Bloomfield, New Mexico, where I was first introduced to the english language. I moved to Kayenta, AZ where I took two years of the native Navajo language. Monument Valley and the Grand Canyon were my playgrounds. I moved to Phoenix where I attended Trevor G. Brown High School, then, Phoenix Community College. ASU was my last stop, my field of studies was Psychology. I have been a translator for the schools and the church I attended. My passion is to help kids and people in general. I like arts and crafts, music, movies and being a mom. I love all kinds of ladybugs and beautiful Tinkerbell. I aspire to be a positive influence on all students.

My name is Beth Faze and I teach 5th grade here at Roadrunner. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work from Bowling Green State University in 1983 and moved to Arizona. Ten years later, I returned to college and received my teaching credentials from Grand Canyon University and began my career at PVUSD. I love teaching and working with our diverse population. Outside of school, I like music, reading, hanging out with friends, and playing all types of games.

I began my education career as a para in a school for students with emotional disabilities in the Finger Lakes area of New York while going back to college for teaching. I've lived in Arizona since 2010 and worked for a couple districts before joining Roadrunner in Paradise Valley this year. I've jumped between teaching general education and special education over the years; I enjoy teaching reading and math. I'm pretty excited to be using the Boys Town model this year. When I'm not teaching, I'm gardening, mountain biking, raising chickens, and off-roading in the Jeep with my boyfriend.

This will be my first school year at Roadrunner and in PVUSD. However, I have been a teacher for 12 years. In my time as a teacher I have worked with students with varying disabilities but primarily students with Autism, emotional, and learning disabilities. I taught for 2 years at a private school for students with Autism straight out of ASU. I then joined DVUSD for 10 years.
Family is everything to me. I have two sons and an amazing wife. My oldest son will be starting 2nd grade and my youngest will be a kindergartener. My wife and I have been together for 10 years. We love playing games and hanging out with our friends. We are Disney enthusiasts and love going to the parks in California when we can.
I am a huge fan of the Arizona Cardinals! My dad and I go to every home game. I also like Star Wars and Marvel movies. One of my favorite places to eat is Chick-fil-a! I am excited to join the Roadrunner team and help our students grow socially, emotionally and academically.
